I still hate all self-tanners that I've tried, even the Bareminerals one everyone loves. In my opinion, all the high end tanners are a joke and seriously overpriced for what they offer. They ALL look fake on me with that yellowing, too-brown color to them. I am very fair skinned with pink undertones and will tan but it takes time, plus I freckle on face and arms a bit. I was very hesitant to try this again remembering how gross it used to be but decided with the no smell promise to give it a shot.
Some things to bear in mind: the smell is WAY better than it used to be, and at first there is none, but it DOES show up after and hour or two and if you're sensitive to smells it is still pretty strong. It's especially smelly when your skin is warm for some reason--like if you put on jeans after letting it dry. I've only put it on after a shower with clean skin and the same day I apply I usually want a second rinse off shower later on. UNLIKE the old version, the shower does help rinse the smell off for good. The color is pretty even. People complain the color is too gradual or not deep enough. I wanted that anyway, but I didn't have that problem. In fact even after the first app I've only been using it every few days and it works fine if you're just wanting some color and not a serious brown, faux tan. The smell would still be too much for me to handle every day.
I'll keep using it until (or if) I find something like it that works better.
For best results, use daily as your body lotion. Smooth on evenly, allowing several minutes to dry prior to dressing. Wash your hands after application. You will begin to see a subtle development of color within several days. If color change is not as noticeable as desired, apply more frequently. |
